Accura Consulting was engaged by a specialist international contractor to support the delivery of a complex marine and structural package within the iconic Barangaroo Development.

The scale, technical sophistication, and high-profile nature of the project presented considerable contractual and delivery risks. Our team was brought in to assist with claims consulting, and to provide quantum and delay expert servicesrelating to variations, interface issues, and cumulative delay impacts.

The role of claims consultants, quantum experts and delay experts

Accura’s role involved:

  • Strategic preparation and assessment of construction claims, including EOTs, disruption, and variation entitlements

  • Provision of independent quantum expert opinion, including valuation of change-related costs and prolongation

  • Execution of detailed forensic delay analysis to determine critical path impacts, assess float usage, and support time-related claims

Our consultants worked across a broad dataset of project records including baseline programmes, subcontractor claims, cost reports, and site diaries to prepare objective, evidence-based reports in line with dispute resolution standards. We also advised on concurrent delay, float ownership, and delay causation analysis, drawing on our extensive expertise in major infrastructure projects.

Outcome

Accura’s expert support allowed the contractor to clearly articulate its position across a number of commercial and time-related matters. Our involvement enhanced the client’s ability to negotiate complex entitlements and present substantiated claims within a high-stakes, high-visibility development environment.

This engagement showcases our strength in delivering quantum and delay expertise on large-scale urban projects, especially where technical risk, multiple interfaces, and reputational sensitivity demand a precise and credible approach.
