Delay, Disruption and Claims Management for Major Road Piling Works

Road construction project delay and disruption needing claims consultant and delay experts

Accura Consulting was engaged by a major civil works contractor to provide delay, disruption, and claims management services during the delivery of piling works on a major road project.

The Pacific Highway Upgrade project was a large-scale road infrastructure program improving transport links along New South Wales’ east coast.

The piling package, part of several complex bridge and civil structure elements, was impacted by ground conditions, interface issues, and sequencing delays, creating substantial challenges around time, productivity, and cost recoveries.

The role of claims consultants and forensic delay experts

Accura was appointed to:

  • Conduct forensic delay analysis to determine schedule impact across multiple piling locations

  • Undertake disruption analysis to quantify productivity loss due to access restrictions and resequencing

  • Prepare structured claims documentation to support commercial recovery for delay and cost impacts

Our team reviewed construction records, equipment logs, subcontractor communications, and scheduling data to deliver a comprehensive and defensible assessment of entitlement.

Outcome

Our involvement enabled the client to better understand the root causes of delay and disruption, present evidence-based claims, and strengthen its position in commercial negotiations.

This engagement reinforces Accura’s experience in major civil works and road infrastructure and our ability to bring clarity to technically and commercially complex project scenarios.
